Intermittent Fasting: The Game Changer

Haan bro,

In this blog, I am just telling you about my experience with Intermittent Fasting. I am not a fitness expert so it is going to be simple.
I used to be a fitness freak before, but after a few instances in my life, I had no motivation, no hope and blah blah … (Not that serious) 😆. I was gaining weight or should I say FAT!!!! I had no confidence, not even a clue of what I was doing in my life. (Still confused…)

Then one of my bros enlightened me about Intermittent Fasting and then my journey began. Actually many people don't favor Intermittent Fasting in India, but bro i did not listen to them. So, I started getting results from the first week of Intermittent Fasting and my target was to burn fat as fast as I could.
I would say the first week was a bit difficult, in terms of eating and fasting. So, side by side I was doing research on Intermittent Fasting. All the benefits and demerits of Intermittent Fasting were acceptable and I was ready for it.

And now I will just get to the point, to which you have already scrolled.😴

Intermittent Fasting?

Bro Intermittent Fasting is basically used for weight loss as well as maintaining your weight.

It is really not a fasting method but… it is the way you manage your eating pattern. But make sure you are eating a caloric deficit diet (Duhh…). Otherwise weight loss will just remain a goal. I will tell you later about how to calculate your daily calorie intake.

In Intermittent Fasting you can skip one meal of the day (Breakfast for me) and have the rest of them during the eating time window.  There are few patterns for Intermittent Fasting as follows:

16/8 Pattern (16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating window)
18/6 Pattern (18 hours of fasting and 6 hours of eating window)
20/4 Pattern (20 hours of fasting and 4 hours of eating window)
5:2 Diet (Alternate Day fasting)
-Restricting calories for two days and eat whatever you want for other five days.
OMAD (one meal a day)

Remember fasting hour is the time between the last meal you ate and the first meal you will eat the next day.

There are more i guess but I will stick to the basics. People usually star with 16/8 pattern in which they fast for 16 hours and eating window is of 8 hours. Eventually you can increase the fasting period as per your condition.

Why?

Bro see if you want to know the science behind it, then it is simple. Intermittent Fasting is beneficial because it allows the body to burn fat at a higher rate, that is almost 10-12 hours after the last meal you ate. Don’t you worry, it won’t affect muscle mass. If you are eating regularly it is not going to give you faster results in weight loss. It is the only thing I can tell you.

Pros of intermittent fasting:

There are many pros of Intermittent Fasting but I will state a few of them,
  1. It improves your mood and keeps you motivated.
  2. It prevents many diseases. (THERE ARE MANY… SO ILL TELL YOU ABOUT IT IN THE NEXT BLOG)
  3. Improves sleep. ( who doesn’t love to sleep …) 😜
  4. It will help you in improving your concentration, keeps your brain sharp.
  5. It does not affect you daily performance.
  6. It slows aging- It is the most effective to increase life span. When you fast, your cells are able to detox and recycle, so your body can slow down aging and even prevent some diseases.
e.t.c…..

I really have not come across any disadvantages other than hunger 😒….

How I got the results?

Bro, I usually wake up at 6 or 6:30 in the morning. Then for 3 hours I try to stick to water. After 3 hours I drink black coffee or green tea… (And pleaseee…. NO SUGAR 😞) … Then I just wait till the fasting time completes. I eat the first meal 1 hour before going to the gym and after all this I eat foods high in protein and low fat. (Soon i will let you know about my diet) TADAAAAA 😃   Simple.

And yeah then I sleep. 🙈

And you know what it never harmed my daily routine, Work, Study, and the rest of the things I do.
